I used Wise to send money from Turkey to a European bank account. I made the transfer correctly, but I forgot to include the reference number — a common mistake, and I immediately contacted support with my receipt.
This was a rent payment, so time was important. But it’s been 5 days, and I’ve spoken to 5 different agents.
One told me to wait 2 days.
Another said they’d escalate it.
I even got an email saying my money arrived — but the app still says “waiting for your money.”
I called again, but got nothing helpful. The call center staff barely speak clear English, there's background noise, and no one seems to be trained to actually solve problems — just repeating vague scripts.
I’ve done everything right, sent every document, waited patiently — and still no resolution.
My money is stuck, and all I hear is “please wait” over and over.
Wise clearly isn’t ready to handle real-life situations when something goes even slightly wrong. Terrible experience.
Recommendation: Use alternative firms
Yeah, I've been using Wise for many years. In the past everything was good. As of a couple of months ago, transfers would arrive in seconds. Using the exact same banks, and the same amounts, it now takes multiple days for a transfer to be made. When calling support, only get vague "it's the way you made the transfer" even though I changed nothing. The only response was - wait a few days. NOT ACCEPTABLE for anyone, let alone for an established customer.
