I recently visited three separate H&M stores, in Trieste, Bari and Vienna, where a shirt displayed on a mannequin was not available on the racks. During a visit on 18 May 2026 to the Lugner City store in Vienna I enquired about purchasing the shirt being worn by the mannequin as it was the size I was looking for. I was advised that the display stock was not for sale. When I asked to speak to the manager, the assistant went away for several minutes and returned to advise that the manager would not speak to me. Why do stores display stock that is not available for sale, and why can't customers purchase display stock?
Desired outcome: Clarification of company policy
